Affordable Appliance Repair in Exeter

Appliance repair is the process of fixing domestic or commercial appliances when they break. This includes things like washing machines, cookers, hobs, fridges, and dishwashers. Companies like ours can be called out to quickly repair a fault and get your unit up and running again quickly.  

Getting an appliance repaired is a usually more cost effective and faster than buying a whole new unit, as we can be called out on the same day and guarantee it will be working when we’re finished. Repairing is also better for the environment as it results in less appliances and parts ending in landfill!

With most home appliances lasting between 10 and 15 years on average, you won’t have to get your appliance repaired too often. Saying this, it’s common to expect appliance repairs every 3-5 years, but it’s usually nothing major. The frequency of repairs also depends on the machine and how often you use it. Washing machines, for example, break more often than microwaves – in our experience at least! 

Although repairs aren’t needed that often, maintenance is something that should be done regularly and will extend the life ofd your appliances drastically. Most appliances should be maintained or looked at every 3 months to ensure there’s nothing sinister going on. The type of maintenance depends on the appliance, but a general wipe down and a few checks will normally do the trick.

On average, you can expect to pay around £100 to have your appliance repaired. Of course, this varies depending on the appliance. Most jobs we do are priced between £40-£500, with the most expensive repairs being for larger appliances like commercial cookers. We may also charge a call-out fee depending on the urgency and where you’re located, which is priced around £60.

This is a common question we get asked. Although we’re biased, you should try to get an appliance repaired where possible as it is cheaper and quicker than replacing. However, a general rule-of-thumb is if the repair cost is more than half the replacement cost, you should get a new appliance. We supply free quotes and will be honest if we think your appliance is not worth repairing.
